Mehran, N., Ferris, C., Yang, M., et al. (2020). Calling All House Call Patients: An Intervention for Older Adults During the COVID-19 Pandemic. Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. 69(3):600-601.
The authors implemented a Fresh Food Rx program with telehealth support for older adults who were identified as food insecure in a survey. The telehealth program also supported older adults’ emotional health and created a way for them to check in with their healthcare providers. The authors concluded that telehealth can be an important tool to support older adults during emergencies.
