Nurses’ Ethical Considerations in a Pandemic or Other Emergency

This article begins with a description of nurse-involved scenarios that could occur during a public health emergency. It explains the “duty of care” concept, and highlights how obligations (to family, self, to anticipate and prepare for emergencies) may be considered by nurses prior to an emergency to help with planning and reporting to work.
