Security Requirements for Practitioners

U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration. (2020). Security Requirements for Practitioners.
Facilities that have controlled substances in supply often need increased security during a disaster to prevent theft or provide crowd control, which may not be available due to the competing response demands on security and law enforcement. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) advises DEA registrants to reach out to law enforcement in order to check-in and provide security. Pharmacies may also partner with local law enforcement or the local DEA field office to secure controlled substances.
