The authors investigated more than 2,000 cases of critically ill COVID-19 patients and found that the factors most associated with death were “older age, male sex, morbid obesity, coronary artery disease, cancer, acute organ dysfunction, and admission to a hospital with fewer intensive care unit beds.”.
