This brief report conveys results of a cross-sectional study of 614 white Italian patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in 13 Italian cardiology units from March 1 to April 9, 2020. The authors found that patients with elevated troponin levels at admission were more at risk for complications and in-hospital death.
