This study, of more than 4,000 patients in 5 New York City hospitals between March 1, 2020 and April 30, 2020, found a 50% reduced hazard of in-hospital mortality and 30% reduced hazard of intubation among those with therapeutic and prophylactic anticoagulation (AC) in comparison to those with no AC. Autopsies suggested that clinical estimates thromboembolic disease may be underestimated.
