Infections with Multidrug-Resistant Microorganisms After War Injuries in Victims from Ukraine

The speaker describes injuries to wounded civilians and soldiers transferred to nearby facilities for treatment (14 who developed complex musculoskeletal infections; 10 males and 4 females, among them 3 children). Photos illustrate the extent of injuries and nature of infection, which she referred to as a "completely new pathogen spectrum" (polymicrobial infections) and encouraged providers to conduct radical surgical debridement and provide local and systemic antimicrobial therapy in similar cases.
