The Hurricane Ian Experience at Lee Health Wreckage Resilience and Recovery

More than 150 direct and indirect deaths and over $112 billion in damage have been attributed to 2022’s Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in southwestern Florida as a Category 4 storm. Dave Kistel (Vice President and Chief Facilities Executive at Lee Health) met with ASPR TRACIE and described how the hospital system prepared for, responded to, and recovered from Hurricane Ian, which caused $12 million in damage to Lee Health facilities.
