The authors conducted a pilot study to understand the characteristics, recruitment, demographics, and training of Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers. They found that of 29 MRC units which responded, 72% of volunteers were female, 45% of respondents were nurses, and 10% were physicians. The article includes qualitative and quantitative data in several tables and charts.
