Mobile Disaster Communication Using ZigBee

Prakash, S., Saipriya, V., Pooja, R.J., et al. (2020). Mobile Disaster Communication Using ZigBee. International Research Journal of Engineering and Technology. 7(4).
The authors describe a smartphone application for use during emergencies which accounts for situations in which telecommunications infrastructure is damaged. The application enhances SOS messages by allowing one way communication where “any possible node can opportunistically be used as the next hop,” improving the chances that the emergency message will be received while cell towers may be down.
