Facing the Shortage of IV Fluids – A Hospital-Based Oral Rehydration Strategy

Patino, A., Marsh, R., Nilles, E., et al. (2018). Facing the Shortage of IV Fluids – A Hospital-Based Oral Rehydration Strategy. The New England Journal of Medicine. 378(16):1475-1477.

They note conditions associated with mild dehydration (e.g., gastroenteritis, pregnancy-related hyperemesis, pharyngitis) which can be treated with oral rehydration therapy to conserve saline bags.
