Critical Infrastructure Protection for the Healthcare and Public Health Sectors.
The Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) branch provides subject matter expertise support for partners needing advice or guidance on best practices for physical and cyber critical infrastructure protection. During disaster operations CIP can tap into its private sector partners in the following healthcare and public health sub-sectors: health information technology and medical technology; pharmaceuticals, laboratories, and blood; medical materials; health plans and apyers; direct healthcare; and mass fatality management. This branch can also assist with infrastructure interdependency issues (power, water, communications) and provide threat information to public health departments during an emergency. Users can submit SME requests to cip@hhs.gov.
