This document summarizes proceedings from a workshop held in 2010 where participants came to several conclusions, including: crowdsourcing needs to be examined in more detail as a data source; agencies need to plan for and use social media; people expect and want information quickly; and using social media may require agencies to partner with others they may not have previously worked with.
