The authors describe a study where Multnomah County, Oregon, conducted a high-throughput point of dispensing (POD) exercise to test just-in-time training and computer modeling to validate POD staffing estimates. One finding was that staff was underutilized, suggesting the opportunity for even more efficient, wider-reaching PODs.
