The purpose of this course is to provide education and resources that can be used as just-in-time training to prepare providers to identify the needs of pediatric survivors so that they may provide support in a way that helps these children return to pre-disaster levels of functioning. It discusses a number of topics, including Common Reactions to Disasters; Childhood Grief and Childhood Grief in Disasters; and Severe Reactions to Disasters: Stress, Acute Stress Disorder (ASD), and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
