In addition to experiencing a devastating hurricane season with repeat “hits” from Hurricanes Irma and Maria, healthcare facilities in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico participated in an unprecedented evacuation of dialysis patients (primarily to Atlanta, GA). ASPR TRACIE interviewed Bill Numbers (Fresenius Medical Care) to discuss private sector-federal government coordination and collaboration and lessons learned from the event.
