Tables throughout the article illustrate key considerations for disaster mortuary planning including body storage, location of emergency mortuary facilities, security, communications, staff training, and staff wellbeing. The authors recommend that mortuaries likely to respond to mass fatality events share information on lessons learned and best practices, in particular emphasizing areas for improvement.
