Data Sources for Hazard Vulnerability Assessments (HVAs)

Healthcare facilities and state and local jurisdictions use a variety of sources to gather data to inform their hazard vulnerability assessment (HVA) and risk assessment efforts. This page lists publicly available data sources categorized by hazard type that are appropriate for assessing community-level hazards. Healthcare facilities and their partners can use these data sources in combination with after-action reviews and other community and facility-specific information to establish a more comprehensive picture of their hazards and risks. Note that many databases are historical and some reflect current state – both of which may limit their ability to predict risk in a given community. This list is not exhaustive and ASPR TRACIE welcomes suggestions about additional data sources to include.

Additional information on how to conduct and use the results from an HVA may be found in ASPR TRACIE’s Hazard Vulnerability/Risk Assessment Topic Collection.
