Managing a Pediatric Tripledemic Lessons Learned from 2022

During the winter months in 2022-2023, hospitals in the state of Washington were overwhelmed by pediatric patients suffering from three respiratory viruses. In this article, subject matter experts provide an overview of the healthcare coalition, the state's pediatric capabilities, and how they used their Medical Operations Coordination Center (MOCC) and healthcare coalitions to balance patient loads throughout the state during this "tripledemic."
