The Rural Emergency Hospital Method-Year Two Progress Report

As of August 2024, more than 30 rural hospitals were designated rural emergency hospitals; the authors highlight the challenges some hospitals faced while transitioning (e.g., flexibility around service delivery) and how they overcame them (e.g., offering up to five acute inpatient or swing beds in areas where these options are otherwise difficult to locate).
