Small Animal Handling Triage and Decontamination Demonstration

This 90-minute virtual course introduces responders to the fundamentals of working safely and effectively with companion animals during disasters. Participants will learn basic companion animal behavior and low-stress handling, basic triage for assessing and prioritizing care, and procedures for companion animal decontamination following exposure to hazardous materials or disaster-related contaminants.
