Increase in H5N1 Vaccine Antibodies Confers Cross-Neutralization of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1

Huang, X., Yu, D., Pan, L., et al. (2025). Increase in H5N1 Vaccine Antibodies Confers Cross-Neutralization of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1. Nature Communications. 16(5517).
Using a platform of 17 pseudoviruses (representing currently circulating and vaccine H5 strains) and clinical human immune sera from H5N1 vaccine recipients, the authors assessed the neutralizing antibody responses to circulating H5N1 strains. They found when high antibody titers were attained, the sera showed broad-spectrum protective effects against circulating H5N1 strains.
