The goal of the Division of Vector-Borne Diseases (DVBD) is to protect the nation from existing and emerging bacterial and viral diseases transmitted fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. These include some of the world's most destructive diseases, many of which are increasing threats to human health as the environment changes and globalization increases.
