A Disaster Medicine Curriculum for Medical Students

The authors discuss the development of a two-week Disaster Medicine elective in which 6 medical students participated. The course consisted of 16 lectures, as well as field visits and experiential activities, including observation of a statewide disaster drill. All participants demonstrated proficiency through an oral examination and final presentation at the end of the course, and all rated the course highly.
