The Strategic National Risk Assessment in Support of PPD 8 A Comprehensive Risk-Based Approach toward a Secure and Resilient Nation

The Strategic National Risk Assessment (SNRA), a part of Presidential Policy Directive 8 (PPD-8), was an effort to identify potential incidents that could adversely impact national security, to include acts of terrorism, cyber attacks, pandemics, and catastrophic natural disasters. The assessment helped identify risk factors, develop collaborative partnerships, and expand national threat and safety awareness.
