2024 Data Breach Investigations Report

Verizon examined more than 10,000 security incidents affecting various industries, including healthcare. They found that of the 1,378 healthcare breaches, 1,220 had confirmed data loss, and miscellaneous (perhaps innocent) errors, privilege misuse, and system intrusion (in order of occurrence) represent 83% of breaches.
