Improving the Quality and Resilience of the United States Healthcare Supply Chain

This joint document from the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Association for Clinical Oncology, and the United States Pharmacopeia recommends five strategies to improve supply chain resiliency. They recommend: incentivizing and developing manufacturing technology for critical drugs and active pharmaceutical ingredients, improving the Strategic National Stockpile, improving multinational supply chain cooperation, incentivizing drug and device manufacturing quality, and enhancing transparency and oversight of medical devices and ancillary supplies.
