What is Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-informed care is based in healing and recovery (versus potentially retraumatizing practices and services). It is categorized into five trauma-informed values and principles proposed by Drs. Maxine Harris and Roger Fallot: safety (physical and emotional), trustworthiness, choice, collaboration and empowerment. This webpage can help health care providers learn more and incorporate this type of care into their work.
