Attachment and Replication of Clade 2.3.4.4b Influenza A

The authors found the clade 2.3.4.4b highly pathogenic avian influenza A H5N1 virus attached to and replicated more efficiently in human respiratory epithelium than clade 2.1.3.2 H5N1, suggesting an increased risk of human infections from the currently circulating virus compared to one from 2005.
